
Hemorrhagic strokes (Bleeds) and ischemic strokes (Clots) with accompanying hemiplegia, hemiparesis, dyslexia, dysgraphia, memory disorders, coordination and balance needs careful, long-lasting and above all systematic and professional therapy. Inadequate treatment (eg, working only with one paralyzed side of the body) can cause a variety of complications including seizures. It is important to remember that the problem of stroke is most often related to people suffering from various other diseases such as:
- Atherosclerosis;
- Ischemic heart disease;
- Cardiorespiratory Failure;
- Hypertension
- and many other diseases that require pharmacological treatment and reflect on rehabilitation procedure.
Thanks to the SPIDER, exercises for such patients are safe. We may dose the effort of exercises for a patients abilities. SPIDER DEVICE helps to improve by the asymmetric fastening possibilities of work with the sick side simultaneously with the healthy side.
In addition to typical movement therapy, speech therapy should be performed pararelly to reduce speech disorders and affective aphasia.
Therapists working at the NORMAN Rehabilitation Center have a certified training in the use of neural developmental aspects of NDT-Bobath and PNF techniques, which are mainly used during rehabilitation sessions.
INDIVIDUAL REHABILITATION PLAN
The Clinic offers the 4,6 and 8 weeks rehabilitation sessions (six days of exercises in a week and one-day of rest). The patient is treated approximately 220 minutes a day, depending on the abilities of the patient. The treatment is preceded by a detailed medical examination.
Individual therapy: massage, soft tissue and joint mobilization, stretching, strengthening, range of motion exercises, activities of daily living training, balance and coordination activities, gait training, 60 to 120 minutes of exercises in the SPIDER equipment.
